noun, plural [ka‧ma‧tis]
Wo, hold on just a moment there. Tomatoes, why on earth is a dog blog talking about tomatoes??
No, silly, Kamatis is the name of our featured dog. You see, when this low-ride was a tiny little pup, he was small enough to fit in the palm of his parents’ hands. And he looked like a tiny kamatis, which means tomato in English.
We met Kamatis in the fall of 2018 at our annual fundraiser, The Fido 500, where Kamatis took home first place in our Car Costume Contest and by a nose took 2nd place in the Fido 500 Race. It was quite the day for this little achiever – he made his mama very proud!
A few months later and we got to welcome this little tomato to the Hilarious Hound family as part of the Hilarious Hounds of the Bay book project! A book of 30 local dogs sharing stories as to why they are Hilarious Hounds. For Kamatis his dream is to become a TV food host, so for his photoshoot, we got to bring his dream come true!
But his adventure doesn’t end there. The people have spoken, and Kamatis was announced the winner of Hilarious Hounds of the Bay and his photo got to take center stage as the cover model for Hilarious Hounds of the Bay.
If mom was excited about her raining champ at The Fido 500, image her joy when she heard this news!!
